Tangle Teezer vs The Wet Brush

As you might know, I'm a huge fan of the Tangle Teezer. I haven't used any other brushes ever since I bought it and I truly believe it does what it claims! But, while I was looking for a new one, the Wet Brush caught my eye. I had heard many great things about it, and I knew it basically claims to do the same things as the Tangle Teezer does. So, curious as I am, I wanted to see if it truly works!
First, let's see what both brushes claim to do for your hair.

The Tangle Teezer "The multi-award winning detangling hairbrush! Our first invention, The Original is the ultimate detangling hairbrush. Using our innovative two-tiered teeth system technology, it detangles with minimum fuss, breakage and damage, leaving hair smooth, soft and shiny. Available in a rainbow of colors, find your favorite."

The Wet Brush "With its unique IntelliFlex™ bristles, the Wet Brush runs effortlessly through hair, detangling without pulling or tugging. There’s no pain, no tears–whether the hair is wet from the shower or dry; curly or straight; thick or fine."
What is similar?
Can both be used on wet or dry hair
No pulling or tugging
Minimal breakage/damage
Can be used on all hair types
They're about the same price
Now, let's get to the review!
As I said earlier, the Tangle Teezer does what it's supposed to do! It removes tangles without tugging, causes less breakage than a normal hairbrush and it's easy to use. Something I also noticed is that it's really lightweight and very easy to clean as there are no little 'balls' at the end of each bristle and it's totally made out of plastic. That's something I really enjoy since I hate the look of dirty brushes.
But, just like everything else, the Tangle Teezer is not perfect. Something I really miss when I use the Tangle Teezer is a longer handle. The brush is designed to fit nicely into your hand, and it truly does! But still, I would love a longer handle as it makes it easier to get to the back of your head. Although I do have to say before I bought the 'Original' (which is the one from this post) I had the 'Salon Elite' and this one is way easier to hold in my opinion! Something I also noticed is, after a long time of using it, the bristles on the sides started to break off. It doesn't really bother me, but I thought I should mention it.
As for the Wet Brush, I obviously haven't used it as long as I've used the Tangle Teezer, but I feel like I've used it long enough to give you a helpful review. Again, the brush does what it claims! It's really gentle on your hair and I love that it looks/feels like a regular brush! Although I do feel like the Tangle Teezer is just a tad more gentle and better at removing severe tangles. The only other downside I could find is that it's harder to clean in comparison with the Tangle Teezer.
Now you're probably thinking "Which one does she like best?". Honestly, I like them both! It all comes to personal preference. So here is a short list of my pro's and cons on both brushes so you can decide for yourself which one you would like best.
Tangle Teezer
Pro's
Very lightweight
Easy to clean
Hygienic
You can take it with you in the shower as it is totally made out of plastic
Ergonomically designed to fit nicely into your hand
I prefer this one over the Wet Brush when my hair is dry
Better at removing severe tangles
If your hair is matted, I would choose this brush!
Cons
It has no handle
bristles start to break off after a long time of use (2 years)
Quite time consuming, it takes longer to brush all of your hair
Wet brush
Pro's
Looks like a normal hairbrush
Has a really nice handle
Detangles your hair really fast
I prefer this one over the Tangle Teezer when my hair is wet
It's faster in comparison to the Tangle Teezer
Cons
Would not recommend taking it with you in the shower (water could get stuck in the little 'cushion' which could cause fungus to form inside the brush)
Harder to clean
Slightly less gentle on your hair in comparison with the Tangle Teezer
I hope this review helped you in making your decision! Do you already have one of these brushes? Or maybe you have both? Let me know which one you like best or which one you would like to try!
