When we woke up and realized it was the day we left for Paris, things just couldn't be better! We've been looking forward to this trip for so long and the day had finally come! We had to wake up really early since we first had to go to Leuven to catch our train to Brussels. From there we took the Thalys (a very very fast train wich connects multiple big cities in Europe) and in just 1 hour and 20 minutes we arrived in Paris! I was so excited! I had been to Paris before on a school trip but it's so much more fun to discover a city so beautiful at your own pace. And of course, Thomas was with me this time so that makes things even better!!

We arrived a bit early at our hotel (Ibis daumesnil porte dorée) since the check in time was 12 AM. They told us we could leave our bags at the hotel so we could go and check out the neighborhood. When it was time to actually check in we headed back to the hotel and they told us that they couldn't find our reservation! I got SO stressed!! We showed them all our papers and I even logged in to my bank account to show them I actually paid for our reservation. Luckily they were friendly enough to give us a room anyway. We booked our trip via 'Vakantie Discounter' , so we assume it's the fault of that specific organization since they didn't mention our booking to Ibis. I was NOT happy with that! We were so lucky that Ibis let us stay anyway but what would have happened if they didn't? Not a very good way to start a vacation.

When we finally got to our room we unpacked our bags so we could go and discover the city. At home, we already made a little day to day planning, so when we arrived we would kinda have an idea of what to do. Of course, It's impossible to stick to that exact planning. It's more like a guide so you know where to start.

The very first thing we did, don't laugh, was go to Sephora! I know haha! But we don't have a Sephora in Belgium so for me it's kind of a big deal 😉 Thomas didn't mind so why not, right? Next, we went for a walk and saw Musée de l'Armée (army museum) of which you can see some pictures above. Thomas and I both find this topic very interesting so we decided to give it a go. I was not disappointed!

After the museum, we saw the Madeleine. There we took the Metro to Rue de Rivoli, a big shopping avenue. We decided to go eat something and choose the first restaurant we saw that was quite nice looking. I chose for pâtes au quatre fromage (pasta with four kinds of cheese). Since we were in France I HAD to eat something cheesy, right? Honestly, It was DELICIOUS! I didn't expect any different since I really like cheese so it just couldn't be bad!

At last, after a little walking trough Rue de Rivoli, we arrived at the Louvre. We relaxed a bit at the courtyard and took some picture for a new outfit post which will be up very soon!

I'm sorry this post turned out to be so long, but I just want to tell you guys everything! Btw, if you want to know how my other days went make sure you check out the blog regularly!
